2020.06.22 17:16 DiR910People need to stop hating on Priyanka and Nick
A bit of background. I'm not an old Jonas Brothers fan. My younger sister is the new group of fans and while I don't actively listen to them, I think their music (the new ones atleast) is pretty fun. I've noticed A LOT of people (especially on Reddit) seem to have issues with the Nick's relationship and while it's pretty common in fandoms, there's an unusual amount of hate here? Like what is the issue? The 10 year age gap? I don't see the problem. Like 10 years isn't even all that much and many relationships with even larger age gaps have worked very well. The fact that they got married within a year of dating? Again, not all that uncommon. A very common thing I heard is that their relationship looks very fake and whatnot. But a quick glance through each of their Instagram feeds and tbh....it's like any other celebrity couple. Yeah definitely more thought out than your average non celebrity person on Instagram, but nothing even remotely screams PR and fake to me. Infact I'd say they seem very happy together. Their individual feeds are not obsessed with mushy pics of them either. Looking back at their older threads, a lot of people said " I'd give it 3 months" and there's even a thread about them supposedly divorcing after 3 months. But it's been more than 2 years now and they seem just as strong. Like honestly, I don't see any difference between them and Sophie and Joe. (PS...I really liked Priyanka's performance in A Kid Named Jake and Quantico) Opinions?
2020.06.18 16:17 ayhtdws1989OLDER WOMEN ARE NOT ATTRACTIVE TO MEN ?
https://preview.redd.it/6gydxcp1go551.png?width=715&format=png&auto=webp&s=00ea2538a2c13d100245fed56cc153a7e75ca1af Ladies its time to be mad (whats new) again. we have been lied to by the society. Every woman at least once in their life has been told that by the age of thirty if a woman is not married she is as good as an old maid. Nobody will want you. ITS A LIE. First off there has been this age old notion that men want younger girls but that's not always the case. there are so many men who have liked girls that are older. Even date them and marry them . Age is not a thing a guy will see most of the time. Even though the case of biology is debatable. eg Priyanka & Nick jonas (for those of you who didn't know she is 10 years older then him ) My now boyfriend always showed interest in me from the getgo . I didn't realise he was a year younger then me until we started dating . And even then i was kinda unsure about whether boys were actually interested in older woman. Until it was obvious that he liked that i was ambitious ,older and smart. He liked how i seemed to have my life in order. And was super infatuated. He always liked how hard i worked and how focused i was on my goals. (sweet boy) YOU BEING OLDER THEN 30 DOES NOT MAKE YOU UNATTRACTIVE TO ANYONE. YOU ARE A CATCH AND NEVER STOP BELIEVING THAT.

2020.02.23 14:25 CopyPastePosterSona Mohapatra slams casting of Sara Ali Khan-Akshay Kumar
Recently while reacting to the casting of ‘Atrangi Re’, whereinSara Ali Khanwill romanceAkshay KumarandDhanush, Sona referred to the ‘idiotic’ jokes made whenPriyanka Choprawas marrying a much younger Nick Jonas. Also taking a dig at the age gap between the cast, the singer questioned if Madhuri Dixit would be cast opposite a 24 year old. The singer shared onTwitter,“Can a 52 year old Madhuri Dixit get cast in a romance opposite a 24 year old young boy any time soon, #India ?I’m okay with this but would love a world that would play fair. Remember the idiotic jokes & trolling poor Priyanka Chopra was subjected to when she married Nick Jonas.”
2020.01.30 22:24 CopyPastePoster“If you don’t have it, don’t flaunt it” designer Wendell Rodricks shared a clarification after he was slammed for his comments on Priyanka Chopra's plunging Grammys dress.
Priyanka Chopra is fearless and how. She made a powerful statement at the Grammys’ red carpet, along with her husband Nick Jonas, and her plunging white Ralph and Russo dress has stirred a debate. Designer Wendell Rodricks had taken to Instagram to criticize Priyanka’s dress, and commented on how “the neckline goes all the way from LA to Cuba.” He then deleted the post. Actress Suchitra Krishmnamoorthi stood in support of the actress and lauded her for her confidence for not trying to hide her belly in photos. Rodricks was slammed for his comments, post which he shared a clarification on his Instagram. Sharing a picture of Priyanka and Nick, he explained that his comments were more about “dress shaming than body shaming”. For all those that said some really nasty things about me body shaming, here is my retort. Did I say anything about her body? No. Many women did. I just said the dress was wrong for her despite it being couture. It was more dress shaming than body shaming. Stop this sermon from high and read the post before you speak. There is an age to wear some clothes. Men with huge bellies should not wear tight T shirts. Same with women who wear minis past a certain age. If you don’t have it, don’t flaunt it. I stopped wearing Bermudas as I have a few varicose veins. Don’t make every issue body shaming, sexist or whatever. Or you can be false and fake resorting to being politically correct and not be truthful. If you don’t like my posts unfriend me.
Wendell Rodricks wrote on Instagram. Well, his clarification has again irked many, who have lashed out at the designer in comments under his post.
It was just yesterday that PeeCee had penned a cryptic post on her social media hinting at the hate against her navel baring dress. “I seem to be thinking what a crazy beginning of the year it’s been, and we are only in January. Love the ones you love. Live the life you want to live...with all the troubles in this world at the moment, be kind to yourself and everyone around you. I’m so grateful for the kindness I have received, and even when I have not...I some how have. Be kind to the ones around you. It matters. Life is a gift” she wrote on Instagram.

They started dating in 2010. Chris told Elle, "From the first time we met, we just made sense. She's fun. She's outgoing, and she has a sense of humor and a passionate attitude toward life, which is nice to try to keep up with." ALEX RODRIGUEZ ON JENNIFER LOPEZ Friends of the baseball player would later tell Page Six that Rodriguez spent months trying to find the exact perfect ring. “He wanted to get it right,” the source said. “The proposal has been a long time coming. Alex knew she was the one and has been painstakingly planning everything.” MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY ON CAMILA ALVES On that first date, "I knew then. I said the next night after that, I want to go out on another date. The next night after that, I wanted to go another date. And I've been wanting to go on a date with her for the last nine years. And not with anybody else." CHRIS O’DONNELL & CAROLINE FENTRESS Scent of a Woman and Batman franchise star Chris O’Donnell met Caroline Fentress via his sister, who was her college roommate. For O’Donnell, it was love at first kiss, or as he likes to say, “As soon as I kissed her, I knew she was the one.” JASON MOMOA ON LISA BONET When Jason Momoa, 39, and Lisa Bonet, 51, first met in 2005 at a jazz club in New York City through mutual friends, the Aquaman actor was immediately smitten. “We just happened to be in the right place at the right time,” he told James Corden on the Late Late Show last year about their first meeting. “I actually had dreaded my hair for her. I had dreadlocks, she had dreadlocks. I literally turned around and I see her and she goes, ‘I’m Lisa.’ I turned around to my friend and I [pretended to scream]. I had f—ing fireworks going off inside, man. I convinced her to take me home, because I was living in a hotel.” His love for Bonet began when he was 8 and he saw her on TV. “I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one,’” Momoa told Corden. “I’m like, ‘I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life and I’m going to get you.”
2019.09.02 06:07 sladkaazoaThe Epic History of John Stamos' Jonas Brothers Fandom
img Perhaps John Stamos was in the know before any of us. Or the Full House alum is just a sucker for revivals. Either way, there was the actor and part-time Beach Boys drummer wearing a Jonas Brothers t-shirt as he teamed up with the legendary surf rock band to rehearse for a Fourth of July concert last year in Washington, D.C. His outfit choice didn't get a lot of pick up that day, what with his latest Instagram of then 11-week-old son Billy Stamos pulling focus, but when he selected a different Jo Bro tee—this one from the group's 2009 world tour—for his appearance at October's American Music Awards, Nick Jonas definitely noticed. His response, which took some four months to roll out, was worth the wait, kicking off the current Jonas-Stamos appreciation fest that is making the Internet fun again. In a move reminiscent of Ryan Gosling and Macaulay Culkin's super meta Inception-off, Nick turned up at New York City's JFK airport this February wearing a hoodie of Stamos rocking his Jonas tee. The timing of it all—he posted a photo of his streetwear to Instagram March 2 the same day he and older brothers Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas released their instantly trending comeback track "Sucker"—would suggest the 26-year-old was smartly trying to drum up attention for the new single and accompanying music video. It proved not to be necessary. The thirst was already there for a Jo Bro reunion, as evidenced by the fact that the song shot to No. 1 on iTunes and debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. And even if fans weren't eager to see what they had been up to, their decision to tap significant others Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas to star in their video would have been enough of a draw. But even if it was all a ruse, we're not mad at it. The stunt highlights all of the joyous possibilities that exist on the world wide web when it's not being used as a place for strangers to snipe at each other about their discordant political, religious and moral beliefs. And it's still going. Reacting to Nick's taunt—"It's your move @johnstamos,"—the 55-year-old You star commissioned a pillowcase of the singer wearing the hoodie of Stamos in his tee. Follow all of that? And when Chopra's husband made the next obvious move of napping under a comforter printed with the image of Stamos and his pillowcase, the '90s icon went all in. "#jobrosforlife," he captioned his next Instagram of tattoo artist Marisol Preciado inking him with Nick's visage at Treble Art Studio in Corono, Calif. Because Stamos has been there, if not from the beginning, certainly long enough to be considered a stan. He and Nick first connected when each was tapped to appear in Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl in 2011. Despite the nearly three-decade age difference, the fact that the production ran for just three nights in August and that Stamos' role as dancing show host Corny Collins gave him few chances to interact with Nick's heartthrob lead Link Larkin, the pair found time to bond over a love of acting and their shared musical roots. Years before he landed his breakout role on General Hospital, Stamos was a four-year-old kid mastering the art of drumming. He'd move onto the guitar, and a role in his high school marching band, eventually forming a band of his own, a group called Destiny that would play at amusement parks and parties in California's Orange County. All the while his love of rock and music in general was fostered by restauranteur father Bill Stamos. "I was always in a battle with my dad, who was better, Elvis Presley or Frank Sinatra," he shared with AL.com in 2014. "So he really turned me on to a lot of the other guys, so you'd see a lot of Sinatra and Dean Martin and Rat Pack stuff. My early years...Beatles. I grew up on a lot of classic rock stuff." img But it was his appreciation for The Beach Boys, formed just down the road from his Cypress, Calif. hometown two years before his 1963 birth, that would lead to Stamos' steadiest musical gig. One of the group's members, singer-songwriter Mike Love noted in a 2016 interview with Texas radio station Awesome 98, "became friends with John Stamos when he was Blackie on General Hospital. That's how long we've known him. He came out in 1985 to play with us at the Washington Monument, a few hundred thousand people were in attendance....He's been just a huge supporter of the Beach Boys, he was involved producing a movie about The Beach Boys and he loves nothing more than coming out and playing drums." More than 30 years into the gig, Stamos still remembers the giddiness "of those early days when I would be sitting in the corner hearing them rehearse a song," he shared with USA Today last summer. "It was Fourth of July. We were at the Mall of America, and they were singing beautiful acapella. They're mortals, right. They're drinking coffee, talking and joking, and all of a sudden they kicked into 'America The Beautiful' and they became above human. Their voices together, I can't even explain it. It was euphoria." img For Nick, musical success came much earlier in life. The Broadway veteran was barely 10 years old when a song he wrote, "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)", featuring backup vocals from his fellow Beauty and the Beast cast members was released on the compilation album Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, Vol. 4. The single caught the attention of execs at Columbia Records, Nick relayed in a 2007 interview with Life Story magazine: "For that solo project I wrote a song with my brothers, it became a group project and we started recording together." Added Joe, "They thought Nick had an angel-like voice, which is what got him signed. He was working on that solo project and one day Kevin and I said, 'Hey, Nick, do you think we can writing a song together?' We wrote 'Please Be Mine,' which was the first song we wrote together and the fans love it. We walked into the label one day and Dave Massey, Nick's A&R guy, freaked out and said, 'Whoa, there are brothers?' From that moment, we immediately became a group project and started working with different people every day. It was just really great and that's kind of the story." img By 2011, though, the group had hit pause, freeing Nick up for extracurriculars such as his turn in Hairspray and a 2012 stint as lead Finch in Broadway's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Having performed the part himself (for his 1995 Broadway debut, he replaced Matthew Broderick in the revival of the Frank Loesser musical), Stamos turned out to cheer his pal on. "He came and saw the show and overall is a pretty hilarious guy," Nick told MTV News at the time, adding that he was still hopeful he could meet actor Bobby Morse who originated the role: "Stamos actually sent me a picture of he and Bobby Morse to kind of rub it in my face, so I'm a bit jealous. Ribbing aside, though, he noted he and the Full House vet shared an easy camaraderie. "It's like dynamite," he said of their ongoing bromance. "We watch a lot of YouTube videos. We talk about music quite a bit. He's a big music fan. He's a really good dude. He's been really kind through the whole process, because he played the role. He knows what it takes to do it. [It's a] cool older-brother type vibe in that sense. He's everybody's Uncle Jesse." And in that mentor role, he's proved to be the perfect guy to usher in the new era of Jonas Brothers mania. "I'm the fourth Jonas Brother," he joked when ET's Keltie Knight made note of his vintage concert tee on the carpet of last fall's American Music Awards where the Fuller House actor was set to help Busy Philipps present Khalid with the Favorite Male Artist-Soul/R&B award. "I love those guys." While it's unclear yet if loves them enough to permanently stamp Nick's face on his forearm, Stamos' wife Caitlin McHugh has a suggestion for how the group's youngest member can up his game, writing on her husband's tattoo photo, "@nickjonas will have to name his firstborn John Stamos." Hopefully Priyanka Chopra is also a sucker for this charade... img
2019.08.13 20:12 DeathofSerenity[Couple Goals] Nick likes to stare at PC's face every morning as she gets up ... PC would prefer being able to put on mascara and moisturizer
https://www.filmibeat.com/bollywood/news/2019/priyanka-chopra-reveals-why-hubby-nick-jonas-likes-to-stare-at-her-face-every-morning/articlecontent-pf297639-288555.html In a recent interview with ET Online, Priyanka opened up on these online trolls. On being asked about her reaction to fans trolling Nick over his dad-bod seen during her birthday vacation in Miami last month, she said, “I’m really not someone who concerns myself with people’s opinions. I’m kind of like the ‘live your life your way’ kind of girl and I think so is he. And if people can find something to say about Nick’s body, God help us.” The Desi Girl also opened up about the much-talked age gap between her and hubby Jonas. She revealed that she married in her 30s because she didn't find the right guy. "I took choices in my life where my career mattered to me and I didn't find the right guy. So I had to make sure that that pressure isn't the end-all and be-all," she said. Furthermore, the 37-year-old actress spilled some beans about her ‘perfect husband’. She said that Nick always insists to look at her face every morning. She said, “It’s actually really annoying, but he insists on looking at my face when I wake up. I’m just like, ‘Wait one minute. Let me just go get a little mascara on, let me put on my moisturizer. I’m, like, sleepy-eyed face right now, but he’s just ... it’s amazing and super sweet.” “That’s what you want your husband to do. But it’s also, like, a little awkward. OK. He’s like, ‘Let me stare at you, you aren’t even conscious yet.’ Like, literally, I’m not even, I’m not joking. It’s really wonderful, “ she added.
2019.03.28 07:47 veryverystressed465I (22 F), am very worried that the kid I tutor (14 m) has a crush on me and that I might have accidentally groomed him to be that way.
So, I have been working for the same family as a tutor since starting college when I was 18. I tutor the family's 3 boys and all three go to very rigorous private schools so they have a huge amount of studying to do on a daily basis. My job there is basically full time -- 5-6 days a week, and if my boss (their mom) could get me/them to work on Fridays, I'd be there then too. Anyways, the job's had it's ups and tons of downs -- but as of now I'm pretty comfortable with all three of the kids -- I've basically watched them grow up, and their mom likes to say she thinks as me as her daughter, although I personally only see her and her family as the people I work for. (which I know sounds kind of mean but it's just too much to explain why and anyways not relevant to this) Anyways, about 2 or so years ago, I noticed the middle brother -- who I work with the least because he's by far the most independent with his hw/studying -- was super affectionate/touchy whenever I worked with him. Like he would always be staring at me or he would try and put his head in my lap, or he would offer me a back massage, or if he was sitting on the ground and I walked by, he would hold my ankle and try to pull me down on top of him. So I told his mom that I thought that he had a crush on me and she totally dismissed it. She said that she had suspected the same thing but that he insisted he only saw me like a sister. And then she said how happy she was that he saw me that way bc she considered me part of her family blah blah blah whatever. So I just accepted that it was just him being playful like a little brother. Fast forward to this year: He's 14 now, and out of all the brother's he's the one I genuinely care for the most -- I almost DO wish he was my actual little brother because he really is turning out to be a decent kid. When we're working together he'll ask me for advice and I'm just glad to be someone he can come to for things if he's feeling unsure. And all the while he's still kind of affectionate but not like he was before with the putting his head in my lap and stuff, more like putting his arm around me sometimes (I'm pretty sure his parents told him doing all that was inappropriate). But there are still things like -- he'll ask if I have a boyfriend, and when I was dating someone he seemed upset and asked a lot if I was "locked down" with the guy. And he'll always bring up how our age difference isn't that much, pointing out like Priyanka Chopra/Nick Jonas, Stormi Bree/Lucky Blue, now Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale etc etc. He's always asking what my ideal type of guy is -- I mentioned that I liked short hair on guys and he got his hair cut short. I mean these all could be coincidences/curiosity, but one time we were sitting next to each other at an appropriate distance, and when I left and came back, he had PULLED MY CHAIR so it was RIGHT NEXT to his. That was NOT a coincidence. I'm not stupid. I know he pulled that chair! Most recently however, his mom has decided that he doesn't need much help anymore, so she has me handle his younger brother, and if he does need help, she'll call in a back up tutor. It's not my decision at all who I work with, but he confronted me and accused me of purposely not wanting to work with him for ???? some reason, I have no idea. He will just get so moody if my schedule changes or if one of his other brothers have too much work so I don't get to work with him -- and like I know he's upset, because I've known him for four years! But then when I do work with him -- he's just so happy. He's always smiling, he's in such a good mood. He gets that look in his eye --- it's just THE LOOK. The look a guy has when he's really into someone. Like I know that look. And I know this kid, and he gets it, and I feel terrible that I've lead him on somehow. Bascially, I'm just so so so so worried that I've messed up this poor child. He should have a crush on someone his own age! There's a girl at his school who ADORES him -- why can't he like her? I just want to tell him to stop having a crush on me but at the same time I highly doubt he would admit to having one -- and there's always the possibility that these are all coincidences and he does not. I'm thinking about telling his mom, but she might just say it's the sister thing again. She's also kind of possessive over her kids...I do not think she would take well to any of them having a crush on anyone. At the same time, I'm going to be leaving this job in June...and I'm not planning on keeping in contact with their family. Should I just wait it out? But then if I leave and never address it and also cut off contact, will it mess him up even more? Will he feel abandoned or betrayed? The last thing I want to do is hurt him that way. TL;DR: I think the kid I tutor likes me and I need to figure out how to stop him from doing that without hurting his feelings
The president is acting very legal and very cool again, and just in time for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to push more information about the Trump-Russia conspiracy out to the public. In a series of panicky morning tweets (the best kind) Trump harassed his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, for cooperating with Mueller—going so far as to target Cohen’s wife and father-in-law. On the flip side, as in “don’t flip please, because of our many crimes,” Trump heaped praise on his long-time adviser Roger Stone for refusing to testify against him. A number of prominent legal experts noted that by encouraging Stone to keep his mouth shut, Trump may have engaged in witness tampering—a federal crime. He also may have bolstered Mueller’s case that Trump has engaged in a broader conspiracy to obstruct justice—also a federal crime! Trump’s obstructiony behavior bears striking resemblance to conduct that the House of Representatives was poised to impeach Richard Nixon for during Watergate before he resigned. (Obviously, Nixon didn’t have Twitter. Lucky for him… and anyone who lived and died before it was invented.) Trump also said Cohen should serve a “full and complete sentence,” for “things having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc.” But he continues to dangle a pardon for his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, who has been convicted of and plead guilty to fraud and tax crimes, suggesting he thinks the law should only apply to his enemies—another impeachable violation of his oath of office. The last time Trump lashed out over the Mueller investigation like this was... a week ago. (You remember last week, don’t you?) It was just before Mueller revealed that Manafort had violated his plea agreement by lying and committing other crimes, and that Cohen had pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about Trump’s business entanglements with the Kremlin. One suspects that today’s outburst is based on similar visibility into the Mueller investigation. Tomorrow, Mueller will file a memo detailing his position on the sentencing of Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn. That report will likely reveal new information about Flynn’s cooperation with Mueller and his broader misconduct. And on Friday, Mueller will file a similar document with the court detailing as-yet uncharged crimes Manafort committed both while he was supposedly cooperating with the special counsel, and before. We will soon find out what is in these reports. What we know today: Trump is acting as though the revelations will be very bad news for him.
Republicans in Wisconsin and Michigan plan to strip their states’ governors and other executive offices of official powers, including the power to protect voting rights and elections, because Democrats won those offices in last month’s midterms. They follow in the footsteps of North Carolina Republicans, who took the same anti-democratic steps after losing the governorship there in 2016. It is an outrage and a fundamentally illegitimate abuse of power, which is why protesters flooded the capital in Wisconsin chanting “respect our votes” and “shame.” If you’re from Wisconsin, call your legislators about this → 608-266-9660 or 1-800-362-9472. President George H.W. Bush died on Friday at the age of 94. He will lie in state inside the Capitol Rotunda, and his funeral will be held on Wednesday at the National Cathedral. In the wake of his death, lawmakers are considering a one to two week spending bill to pause negotiations and delay a government shutdown fight until after the funeral. For more on Bush’s complicated legacy, read Charlie Pierce and Josh Marshall → President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed over the weekend to a temporary trade-war truce. It’s Christmas Eve in the trade trenches. Donald Trump has spent 23 percent of his presidency golfing (usually at one of his own properties), costing taxpayers an estimated $83 million. Hopefully this year we can get that percentage even higher. CIA Director Gina Haspel will brief senators from multiple committees on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi this week. Haspel can attest to her agency’s confidence that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the murder, but Trump has been corruptly helping the Saudis cover up their involvement. Senators from both parties had requested a briefing from her last week, but the Trump administration declined the request and sent Defense Secretary James Mattis and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo instead. Former FBI Director James Comey agreed to testify in a private House Judiciary Committee hearing later this week, on the conditions that the committee make a transcript of his testimony available afterwards, and that he is free to discuss the interview publicly after it’s over. Finally, we’ll find out what makes this guy tick. Neil deGrasse Tyson has denied three separate allegations of sexual misconduct, including one of rape. Fox Broadcasting and National Geographic, which air the astrophysicist’s show “Cosmos,” have opened an investigation of all claims. After TMZ posted a video of rising NFL star Kareem Hunt shoving and kicking a woman on Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs released him and he was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list. Hunt had previously lied to the Chiefs’ management about the incident. Tumblr will ban all adult content (read: porn) from the platform starting December 17, and the rest of the internet is not happy about it. Vote Save America
Tomorrow is Georgia’s secretary of state runoff election. Remember Brian Kemp—the notorious vote suppressor who blocked enough people from voting to become Georgia’s next governor? He was only able to do that because he was Georgia’s secretary of state. A vote for Democrat John Barrow is a vote to make sure something like that doesn’t happen next time. Make sure everyone you know in Georgia is planning to vote tomorrow →

In North Carolina’s ninth Congressional district, a suspicious mail-in absentee ballot pattern has raised concerns of fraud and may even force the state to call a new election. Republican candidate Mark Harris leads Democrat Dan McCready by just 905 votes, but Harris managed to win 61 percent of the mail-in vote in Bladen County—an area where Republicans requested only 19 percent of absentee ballots. In North Carolina, an absentee ballot requires signatures from the voter as well as two witnesses. The collected ballots repeatedly list eight people as witnesses, all of whom are tied to Leslie McCrae Dowless, a man who was once convicted of felony fraud for paying people to collect and tamper with absentee ballots. According to the election board in Bladen County, many ballots arrived in “clumps,” and were taken by canvassers while they were still unsealed. Sources in North Carolina (and anyone with eyeballs) suspect fraud.

Violent protests in France continued for a third week, after 36,000 people gathered to demonstrate as part of the “yellow vest” movement, leaving 92 people injured, and the Champs Élysées, the city’s most famous boulevard, in turmoil. The movement began in response to gas price increases, but has become a broader demonstration against the French government.
2018.07.28 06:10 kittehgoesmeowWhat A Day: Cohen to Prison by Priyanka Aribindi, Brian Beutler & Crooked Media (7/27/18)
"The man is an honest, honorable lawyer" (May 2018)"He's been lying for years... He's lied all his life." (Last Night) —Rudy Giuliani on Michael Cohen, then vs. now
Michael Cohen, Welcome the the Resis-HAHA, JK
President Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen now says he is willing to testify under oath that Trump knew in advance about, and approved, the infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting where his son, son-in-law, and campaign manager sought stolen dirt on Hillary Clinton from Russian agents. According to the same sources, Cohen also says he and “several” people were present when Donald Trump, Jr. informed his dad about the meeting. You usually won’t go wrong not trusting Michael Cohen, who is an extremely dishonest person. But if there’s one person who’s less trustworthy than Michael Cohen, it’s Donald Trump, so when the two of them make irreconcilable claims, believing Michael Cohen isn’t necessarily crazy. Remember, the enemy of your enemy is your frienemy. Trump and his son continue to deny that Trump knew anything about the meeting, which involved all of his campaign’s top principals, until well after the election. Don Jr. (who’s not NOT going to prison) even testified to it under oath. But their version of events is less credible than Cohen’s.
Multiple Trump insiders, including Steve Bannon and Sam Nunberg, have publicly said they believe Trump knew about the meeting at the time and is lying.
Trump has lied serially about his campaign’s Russia ties, and now asks us to believe that the truth just happens to coincide with the last possible version of events that spares him any guilt.
Cohen reportedly recognizes that he’s past the point of no return, telling associates there’s no going back, and that “he expects to be finished with the president for the rest of his life.” Which, to us, sounds pretty fucking wonderful.
There’s no good hypothetical reason Cohen would put forth a wildly fabricated version of events, and set a public expectation that he’ll testify under oath to a huge lie.
Trump loyalists, who see the writing on the wall, are now test-driving the shameful line that colluding with Russian intelligence to beat Hillary Clinton wasn’t that bad.
From Brian: The most interesting thing about this development is that Cohen’s team is going public at all. When ABC’s George Stephanopoulos interviewed Cohen three weeks ago, Cohen declined to comment on the Trump Tower meeting “on advice of my counsel due to the ongoing investigation.” Cohen has a lot of legal jeopardy, and if he could, he would quietly trade this information to prosecutors in exchange for leniency. The fact that he apparently can’t suggests pretty strongly that Special Counsel Robert Mueller already knows that Trump green-lighted the Trump Tower meeting, that Cohen will face trial, and that he’s trying to gain public sympathy by taking aim at Trump. Education secretary/troubled yacht owner Betsy DeVos is eliminating Obama-era regulations that require for-profit colleges to prove their graduates are provided with gainful employment. The purpose was to protect students from scams, and to end federal subsidies, in the form of federally guaranteed student loans, to schools that leave too many students unemployable. DeVos, whose advisers include multiple former for-profit college executives, wants to go back to the old way. We’d say Betsy Devos is like The Teacher From The Black Lagoon, but we all know Betsy Devos wouldn’t go anywhere near something with “black” in the name. North Korea returned the remains of 55 soldiers believed to be Americans who died during the Korean War, fulfilling a promise from Kim Jong Un to Trump during their summit last month. The unfulfilled promise: Doing literally anything about their nukes. U.S. GDP rose by 4.1 percent in the second quarter. According to current and former officials, the Trump administration still does not have a person or agency in charge of preventing foreign election interference, or even coming up with a strategy to prevent it. This has been widely understood to be a problem since 2016. How will we ever get to the bottom of this complicated Trump-Russia mystery?! Fox News fired The Five-host-turned-Don-Jr.’s-rebound-boo Kimberly Guilfoyle after an investigation into her misconduct revealed she showed coworkers personal photographs of male genitalia while identifying the person in the photographs, discussed sexual matters at work regularly, and was emotionally abusive towards hair and makeup artists and support staff. It is so heartwarming to see someone find her perfect match. CBS announced that it will investigate CEO Leslie Moonves, ahead of an anticipated exposé by Ronan Farrow on Moonves’ sexual misconduct. The New York Public Library purchased an unpublished chapter in The Autobiography of Malcolm X titled “The Negro” at auction. At the time Malcolm X wrote the book in 1965, publishers believed the chapter was “too controversial.” Shares of Twitter stock fell 21 percent, a dip analysts attribute to a fake-account purge that caused the company’s monthly active users to plunge and new data-privacy rules taking effect in the E.U. The longest lunar eclipse of the century will happen tonight but if you live in North America you can’t see it because we can’t have nice things. A USA Today investigation finds that America is the “most dangerous place in the developed world to give birth.” Why? Because hospitals, doctors, and nurses have continued to ignore simple, well-known practices that prevent life-changing injuries and deaths during childbirth. Every year, more than 50,000 mothers are severely injured during childbirth, and about 700 more die, but according to estimates, half of these deaths and injuries are preventable. Read →
